Hello Everyone

Many of you have probably noticed the projects that are in the works here at the plant with the new installation of the CO2 operation out in the livestock drive chute area and on the east side of the plant where contractors have removed a number of trees and a lot of dirt moving is going on. That area is the site where the new cooler will be built. Those two areas will be very busy this summer. For you working out in the livestock area it will be important that we keep people and the hogs safe; moving them in a humane way with all the noise that will be generated as the contractors go forward with the project.  Just to remind everyone that moving the hogs in a humane matter is the 2nd most important thing right after your safety. So be aware of what’s going on around you if you work in that area and report any safety issues to your supervisor. These are two huge projects that are in the works and we want them to go as smoothly as possible and with your help we can make it happen.

Another project that is big is the removal and replacement of the roof over the old side scald tub area. The first phase will happen this Memorial Day weekend where they take one side of the roof off and the other side the following weekend. The cement roof over the years has deteriorated on the inside and was in need of replacement. It will be good to get that completed.

So a lot of construction will be going on this summer so if you work in these areas be aware of safety hazards and don’t be afraid of bringing it to some ones attention so that we can address it before someone gets hurt.

Thank You!
